Three of us ate dinner there last night. Ordered the special, sea bass with asparagus and potatoes. The fish was cooked well but the flavor was very strong and fishy. Could not eat it. Waitress did not offer anything else to replace the bad fish. She did offer tartar sauce to try to mask the taste. Declined the offer. When I got the bill, I was charged $24.00 for a meal I did not eat. I was shocked. This is the first time I have had to pay for meal that was inedible. Won't go back!!!!

Drove by this a lot and always thought it wouldn't be good. Stopped in for lunch and sat on the patio and it was awesome! Clean and remodeled. Fast service and delish food! I got the grilled tenderloin, it could have been trimmed a little more, but very good. Husband got a burger that was awesome too! Def going back!

We ate at Sips last year when we came to town for the annual Buddy Holly Winter Dance Party at the Surf Ballroom and now we are back this year. It's a small neighborhood bar and eatery with great food and atmosphere. My husband loves their home-made vegetable soup and we have enjoyed great salads and sandwiches.

We just had a DELICIOUS lunch at Sips. The food was very well prepared and the service was attentive and very friendly. We're from the Twin Cities and are used to fresh, high quality, delicious food. However we've had a hard time finding anything that meets our expectations on highway 35 between Minneapolis and Ames. Sips is it!! We will be eating here every time we drive to Iowa.

Stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Steak Salad with a great vinaigrette and feta cheese with candied walnuts. The outdoor patio is perfect for some lunch and iced tea. I wish I could speak on the drinks here because they looked good. I would definitely stop by here next time I'm in Clear Lake.

Plenty of parking around here. Smallish area so get here early if there is an event. Most of the patrons were 40+. Seat yourself or hang out at the bar. Menu is pretty decent. Cuban sandwich as good. Tenderloin was good. Specials of fish and chips and irish feast were done well. Pretty decent choices on draught. Staff friendly and willing to give you their recommendations as to the food and drinks. Bathrooms were well done and clean. Huge patio with heaters but unfortunately that wasn't up and running when we were there. A great place to chill before hitting the Surf. Definitely recommend and will return if we are in the area. Wander a bit off the beaten path to avoid those chains restaurants on the interstate. This place is worth it. Well done!

Nice place. Clean, good service, great food. We pulled in off the interstate to rest and have a late lunch. Both got French dips and we're impressed.

Very pleased every time I eat here. New items on the menu weekly. Excellent presentation with the food. I do wish they would step up and get regular TV channels so a single person could come and watch a game when they eat. Nice selection of different brews. Best place and menu in Clear Lake, IA.

Gotta try the Cuban sandwich. Very tasty. Chips are decent, but need a bit more salt. Great atmosphere outside. Service is not the best, but decent. Wish it had a view of the lake. Kinda cool to be next to the historic Surf Ballroom, the place where the music died.

Sips is a great little restaurant. The service is good and very good food on a great atmosphere. One of our most favorite restaurants in Clear Lake.

Enjoyed delightful late summer lunch on patio. Good menu of appetizers, salads, and entrees. Beer, wine, and drinks selection is excellent. Small and friendly place with great atmosphere and wonderful service. Sips Burger is ample and tasty...perfectly prepared.
